This project proposes the relationship and correspondence between different artistic dimensions. A correlation that we find in the line, in painting, in technique, in geometry, in the image, in the simple act of seeing. Art as coincidence carries those specific traits that resemble one another, or that we as viewers ultimately connect. On the other hand, art as consequence is that which responds to processes, materials, changes, time, and so on.
“COINCIDENCIAS / conSECUENCIAS” should therefore be understood as that continuation—art as something permanent, constantly connected and in dialogue with itself, yet able to fracture and individualize. In the proposals we present here, social and cultural agents, artistic influences, techniques of execution, raw materials, and even time exert their influence.
Art as coincidence and consequence is what we examine today, what calls to us and brings our gazes together. It is the very same art that questions us—and within which we, consequently, coincide.
