
THE DIAMETER OF THE HORIZON
Translating ideas into words is a complex task. In a way, that is why I make art: it is a way of materializing and conveying logics that I cannot verbalize.
We perceive the earth, in our lived experience of reality, as “flat.” Yet through deduction and other forms of knowledge, we also know it is spherical.
The ground, likewise, is close and solid—the foundation upon which we build ourselves. And the horizon is distant, forever unreachable. Yet ground and horizon can be the same thing.
I am interested in contradictions that coexist. Simultaneous truths. Ambiguity.
The central piece of the exhibition is a seven-meter-long iron tube crossing the entire gallery. In this object I find many elements that relate directly to my drawings.
Seen from the side, the tube is a line; seen from the front, it is a circular profile. And beyond that, lying horizontally on the ground, it follows the earth’s imperceptible curvature, making it also a section of a much larger circle—the circumference of the planet itself!

THE BREATHING IN THE LINE
Everything begins very simply and intuitively. Domingo feels a natural and involuntary attraction to certain basic shapes and figures such as the circle. Over time, these interests and obsessions link with a scientific impulse and become a creative and experimental path. This personal investigation—rooted in curiosity and observation—documents, in a certain sense, the process of attempting to understand small details of the world. Notes, records such as photographs, or diagrams sketched on a napkin serve to clarify an idea, a discovery, or an incomplete conclusion.
In the parallel lines of his hand-drawn circles, I feel as though I am witnessing his breaths, the time it took him to make them, the dedication—or as he would say, the work of a stroke that is “not virtuous but tortuous.” His drawings speak of imperfection, of the human attempt at perfection destined to fail. I see them as an exhaustive repetition that suddenly opens toward another path, another possibility, another way of making evident the forms, structures, or mechanisms that subtly begin to emerge. His works speak of simplicity, of the limits he encounters, and of channels that connect outward—to the world.
