CONTINUOUS/DISCONTINUOUS SPACES
This study arises from a series of exercises that explore the object and the void through drawing, painting, and object-making.
The proximity between objects and space is measured through the void that exists between them. The void, then, becomes a measure—a distance that exists between them.
The shape of the void is determined by the position of the objects in space; the objects outline the void, giving form to its contour. There are instances in which this void is continuous—when the objects are not in contact, when they maintain a certain determined distance—and others in which the void is interrupted, paused between two objects that touch.
