Guatemala, 1955.

Lives and works in Guatemala City.

 

Visual artist, she created in 2013 a monument for the Plaza del Espíritu Ganador in Guatemala City.

       

From 2000 to 2018, she has exhibited more than ten solo shows in Guatemala in different galleries and independent spaces.

                                                                                    

She has participated in more than 60 collective exhibitions in Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, Spain, United States, Italy and France.

 

In 2017 she participated in the 57th Venice Biennial, Italy, in the Guatemala Pavilion and in the X Central American Biennial in San Jose, Costa Rica in 2016. She was nominated by CIFO in 2014 and 2015. She has been selected by the Festival of Contemporary Visual Art in Ecuador, in 2013; for the FIVA International Video Art Festival in Argentina, in 2012; and for the Blanca Soto Gallery in Madrid, in 2012. Alfons Huge invited her in 2011 to participate in the collateral Collective of the 6th Curitiba Biennial; and the Dominican Republic’s Museum of Modern Art, invited her in 2012.

She won two sculpture competitions in Guatemala, INMACO 2011 and Olympic 2012. She was awarded in 2014 with the SPORT ET ART CIO-IOC International Prize, in Geneva, Switzerland. She has won prizes at the Biennial de Arte Paiz, in 2000, 2002, and 2004 and was selected to participate in 2008, 2010, and 2014. In 2010 she was invited by the curator José Noceda for the I Triennial of the Caribbean and Central America, where she got an honourable mention. She represented Guatemala in the Central American Biennial of Costa Rica in 2000 and the Central American Biennial of Panama in 2004. Her work represented Guatemala in 1998 at the UNESCO World Sculpture Call for Artists in France. Her work is part of private collections in Guatemala and of the Imago Mundi Collection.
